Privacy statement

Playing along takes a handful of details about you. Here is exactly which ones, why we keep them and what you get to decide about them.

1. Who processes the data

De Kentekenspotter runs this game and is responsible for the data you leave here. You can reach us through the contact form on the home page.

2. What we record about you

Your account: your name, your e-mail address, your password (stored encrypted, we cannot read it), your language and date preference, and the moment you were last active.

Your game: the Kreise you log, with the date you pick for them.

Your messages: when you send the contact form we keep your name, e-mail address, subject, message and the IP address of the submission, that last one to keep the form from being abused.

Your visit: to keep you signed in, the server keeps a session with your IP address and the kind of browser you use.

Your invitations: when you invite a friend, we keep the name and e-mail address you fill in, the message you write with it and the moment the invitation went out. We need the address to deliver the invitation and to see whether it was taken up or turned down.

3. What we use them for

To make the game work: storing your observations, working out your statistics and putting you on the scoreboard when you have that switched on.

To reach you: a confirmation of your e-mail address, a reset mail for your password, a reply to your message and the notifications you switched on yourself.

To keep the game fair and workable: preventing abuse of forms and being able to investigate faults.

4. What we do not do

We do not sell your data, we do not rent it out and we do not hand it to third parties for advertising. There are no adverts on the site and no trackers or third-party statistics services looking over your shoulder.

5. Cookies

We only set the cookies the game needs: one to hold your session, one to keep you signed in when you ask for it and one to remember your choice of language. We use no tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep them

Your account and your observations are kept as long as your account exists. Delete it and they go with it.

Messages from the contact form are kept as long as it takes to handle your question and to look back at it if you write again.

An invitation that never became an account is removed a year after you sent it, or a year after it was turned down. Invitations somebody did sign up on stay: they record who brought whom into the game.

7. What you can arrange yourself

Your name, e-mail address, language, date notation and your visibility on the scoreboard are yours to change on your settings screen. That is also where you can delete your account.

If you want to know which data we hold about you, or want it corrected or removed, let us know through the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Did you get an invitation and would rather not hear from us? The mail has a link at the bottom to turn it down. After that we leave that address alone for as long as we keep the invitation, and then it is gone from here.

8. Security

Traffic with the site is encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, and only the people who run the game can reach the administration. If something that concerns you should ever get out anyway, we will tell you.
